Night Owl App Reviews

The best one

After trying nearly every app out there for twitter, none comes near to Yorufukurou. The tabbed and extremely highly configurable interface are excellent. The only thing that is a shame is the lack of updates. Instagram preview is not working anymore, and since the death of twitpic, it needs more default Image upload services (thankfully it supports custom endpoint). if this is fixed and they add support for twitter gifs, everything will be perfect again.

A Best Mac Twitter App, But The Bug Needs To Be Fixed

I just got a new Mac, and one of my friend introduced me to this app and I love it, with one annoying bug that needs to be fixed. So far, this is the best twitter app that I’ve tried, very accessible with Apple’s VoiceOver as a blind user, like the sound. However please fix the annoying bug that I’m currently having. When app opens, it says like invalid or expired token and won’t let me use the app, so please fix this app and update regularly so I can use it again please. Other then that, this app is just great.

Stable, customizable, updates infrequently

A new update! Woot! I wish updates came more frequently, but honestly the app has worked pretty great and I sort of refuse to switch at this point. I really like the UI but would love to see a bit more customization options, inline media previews (that I could toggle on/off) would be awesome! As would support for the default twitter image upload. Overall though, it’s still reliable and very usable. Worth a try if you haven’t used it yet.

Nice app, but needs inline image preview

The app seems to be fast and efficienty, but I did see a way to preview images inline which is kinda important since many people tweet via pictures.

The first Twitter client that the blind can useI have only been able to access my Twitter on my iPho

As a blind user my only option to access Twitter was through Safari or on my iPhone. Finally someone released a client that utilizes Voice Over and I can easily use Twitter without constantly grabbing for my phone. Thank you! If you are visually impaired and have a Twitter account, this is a must have.

Insanely great!

A fast client with many options & great interface with no price tag? @aki is the man.

Fantastic App - One Complaint

Yoru/Night Owl is to me the best Twitter app out there. My only complaint is the limit of 20 tweets when viewing lists upon app launch. Unlike other apps, you can only view the 20 most recent tweets in List View upon launching the app. This is very frustrating and hopefully it can be changed in a future update. If a list member has a string of consecutive tweets, I will revert back to the Twitter app in order to scroll back to read tweets are beyond the 20 tweet list limit. Aside from that issue, I love Night Owl.

Good, but has plenty of issues.

This is definitely my go-to twitter app, but it hasn’t kept up with upgrades to the Twitter service, so I frequently end up viewing tweets in a browser anyway. A few examples: The native image viewing only supports the first picture on a tweet and doesn’t give any indication that there are more. If an image is animated, the native viewer only shows a single frame and doesn’t give any indication that it’s an animated picture. Twitter’s new retweet functionality (where you can add a comment to the retweet) means you have to view the tweet in the browser to see the context, since Night Owl just shows the comment and a link to the original tweet.

A Sweet Little App

Night Owl is feature-packed, easy to use, and you can’t beat the price. With that said, read jpmarcotte’s review about current issues as well. I’m sure that @aki will catch up, but that is an issue with apps from small developers. I occasionally get frustrated and try other, bigger apps. But I always come back to Night Owl, because I think it provides the best twitter experience overall. So I’m willing to give it five stars, even if I’m desperately waiting support for the new retweet style.

Not impressed by this update. Still a year behind the twitter API

This app is good, but be aware it does not support quoted tweets. Also some times 20 items at most show up in the list items. The update has improved but it once again is a year and a half behind. Also they no longer have an email from which you can make suggestions and their main twitter is dead. The last tweet was from 2013 august. Im not impressed by this client, but I have to use it as it is the only truly accessible client out there for the visually impaired.

Blind friendly and great functionality

As a VoiceOver user, it’s tough to find a Twitter client for the Mac that’s actually accessible. For this reason alone, I think this app deserves more reviews. I’m a pretty basic Twitter user. I don’t really do anything beyond tweeting and reading my timeline, but Night Owl has amazing customization options and the keyboard shortcuts for common functionality are really helpful and make things efficient. It’s one of my Mac essentials for sure.

it is not bad …. but there app better than it it’s call ( TweetDeck ) it Worth the experience …

It’s good

It’s free and “scroll-to-top” works correctly. I don’t need more than that for the price.
